No. Octopods needs a HubSpot Professional or Enterprise GTM seat to receive and reply to messages in the HubSpot inbox, as shown on our HubSpot Marketplace listing. Free and Starter plans don't include it. If you're unsure which seat you have, book a quick call with our team and we'll check before you set anything up.
Yes, for most channels. When a message comes in, Octopods checks for a matching contact using the sender's phone number or username. If a match is found, the conversation is attached to that contact. If not, a new contact is created. Two exceptions: for Telegram, contacts are created only when you turn on contact creation for the channel, and Slack messages never create contacts.
